Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is that many students have not yet mastered basic mathematical concepts, particularly sets. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of developing website-based learning media with the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model in enhancing seventh-grade students' understanding of set concepts at MTs Puspa Bangsa. The research methodology employed a quantitative approach using quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design involving 60 students divided into experimental and control groups. The research instruments consisted of validated tests for understanding set concepts, student response questionnaires, and learning activity observation sheets. The research findings indicate a significant difference in set concept understanding between students who used NHT learning media compared to those who received conventional instruction (discussion and lecture methods). The experimental group's mean posttest score was 83.44, while the control group scored 66.56. The T-test analysis revealed an F value of 2.186 with a significance level of 0.143, and a calculated t-value of 8.254, which exceeded the table t-value of 1.999, resulting in a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, this study demonstrates that the effectiveness of developing website-based learning media with the NHT cooperative learning model makes a positive contribution to seventh-grade students' understanding of set concepts at MTs Puspa Bangsa and can be recommended as an effective alternative strategy for mathematics instruction.
