Mathematics learning in Indonesia still faces several challenges, one of which is in improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills. This is reflected in the results of PISA 2022 which show low mathematical scores in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the effect of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) nuances in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. Data were collected by analyzing all articles related to the implementation of the STEM-based PBL model published in the period 2018-2024 which were downloaded via Google Scholar. This study used five (5) scientific articles that were relevant to the topic being studied. From the results of this study, several findings emerged, namely that the implementation of the STEM-based PBL model is a potential solution to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. This research reveals that the use of the STEM-based PBL model can improve various aspects of students' skills, such as problem-solving skills, critical and creative thinking, and mathematical communication. By actively participating in problem-based learning, students are able to develop more efficient problem-solving strategies, increase self-confidence, and apply mathematical concepts in everyday life contexts. This research shows that the PBL model with a STEM approach is a potential solution to improve the quality of mathematics education.
