Mengintegrasikan Matematika Berbasis Etnomatika Guna Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berfikir Kritis dan Kreatif Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045

Abstract

Along with the advancement of the times coupled with the increasingly sophisticated technological advances in the era of the industrial revolution 5.0 resulted in many changes in social life. One of the important things that is the impact of this progress is the fading of cultural values in society. Currently, the main focus is to catch up with the quality of human resources and to be able to compete globally. In the field of technology, mathematics is of great concern because it has an important role in all aspects of life. There are various factors that must be changed and developed in the world of education and teaching, one of the factors is the change and development in educating and teaching (Netriwati and Lena, 2017). Various models, media, and approaches to learning mathematics are maximized to improve the quality of human resources to achieve this goal. Seeing how the main focus today is technological advances that affect the fading of cultural values in society. Therefore, learning mathematics using a cultural approach or ethnomathematics is a solution to solving the problem of cultural fading accompanied by development in the field of technology. The term ethnomathematics was coined by D'Ambrosio (1989) to describe the practice of mathematics by combining cultural concepts which can be interpreted as the study of mathematical ideas found in every culture. Culture-based learning is a model of learning approach that prioritizes student activities with a variety of cultural backgrounds, integrated in the learning process of certain fields of study, and in assessing learning outcomes can use various manifestations of assessment (Sardjiyo Paulina Pannen, 2005). With ethnomathematics, it is hoped that students will be able to understand mathematical concepts and be able to apply them in everyday life and be able to improve students' critical and creative thinking in order to face the industrial revolution 5.0 towards golden Indonesia 2045.
