Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze and examine the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in developing students' creative thinking skills through a literature review. PBL is a problem-based learning model where students are confronted with real-world situations that require creative and innovative solutions. This study gathers and analyzes various scholarly articles, journals, and previous research on the application of PBL in educational contexts, particularly in the teaching of mathematics and science. The findings from the literature review show that PBL significantly enhances students' creative thinking abilities by providing opportunities to think openly, explore alternative solutions, and apply learned concepts to different situations. Additionally, PBL increases student engagement in the learning process, contributing to improved motivation and deeper understanding of the material. However, several challenges in implementing PBL were also identified, including time constraints, teacher preparedness, and the need for adequate resources. This study recommends the systematic and sustainable application of PBL in learning, especially in fields that require high creative thinking skills such as mathematics and science.
