Abstract

Mathematics and culture are two things that are interrelated, because mathematics as a form of culture has actually been integrated in human life. Mathematics that grows and develops according to people’s lives in a particular culture is called ethnomathematics. One of the cultures of the Tamkesi Traditional Village Community, namely Lopo traditional buildings, contains elements of ethnomathematics. Therefore, teachers as facilitators can utilize local culture in designing mathematics learning. This articel discusses how to design a geometric transformation (reflection) learning design based on ethnomathematics in the Tamkesi Traditional Village Community Lopo which can be implemented in the classroom. Further how to implement the designed problem into classes is also discussed in this articel.
