Abstract
The lack of connection between mathematics learning and local culture in many schools makes it difficult for students to understand mathematical concepts related to real life. The rapid development of the times requires students to have an ability such as creative thinking skills that can bring progress in various fields, including science and technology. In improving creative thinking skills, a learning model such as Project Based Learning is needed. The role of ethnomathematics is also very important in bridging education and culture. Mathematical knowledge not only develops in a general form but can also be expressed in local culture. This study aims to discuss the role of ethnomathematics in the application of the Project Based Learning learning model on creative thinking skills, using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The results showed that the role of ethnomathematics in the application of the Project Based Learning Model can make students' creative thinking skills increase significantly, thus students will find it easier to understand abstract mathematical concepts. This shows that the role of ethnomathematics in Project Based Learning can be an alternative solution to improve students' creative thinking skills.
