Abstract

Macrozoobenthos are organisms that live on the bottom of the waters, playing an important role in the aquatic ecosystem as an indicator of water quality and a source of food for fish, thus supporting secondary productivity of the waters. This study aims to analyze the diversity and abundance of macrozoobenthos species in the Ekoriparian Cekdam, Padjadjaran University. Sampling was carried out at three stations, the method used was Purposive Sampling using a 25 cm x 40 cm surber net to collect macrozoobenthos from the bottom of the waters. Based on the results of the study, the macrozoobenthos found in Cekdam consisted of 4 classes, 8 orders, 10 families, and 16 species with a total of 120 individuals. The macrozoobenthos diversity index ranged from 1.23-1.63 which is included in the moderate diversity category. The macrozoobenthos uniformity index ranged from 0.44-0.58 which is included in the moderate diversity category, and the Dominance Index ranged from 0.23-0.35 which can be interpreted that there is no dominant species. This indicates a stable ecosystem. The difference in index values between stations indicates variations in ecological conditions at each sampling location.
