Abstract

Various types of plants adorn the green belt of the roadside at Padjadjaran University Jatinangor East Watershed. On one of the road greenways, there was a tree that fell, making it dangerous for pedestrians and motorists. Therefore, this study aims to obtain data on the composition of plant species as well as diversity, evenness, and dominance on the roadside green belt of the East Watershed Area of Padjadjaran University Jatinangor. In addition, some of its functions, such as shading and pollution absorption, can be taken into consideration by the manager in the arrangement of plants on campus. To find out this, data collection of tree stands along the green belt of the road was carried out using the roaming method. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the composition of plant species found is 808 individuals derived from 40 plant species in different growth categories. The level of plant diversity based on the value of the Shannon Wienner Diversity Index (H') is 2.16, which falls into the medium criteria. Meanwhile, the level of evenness of plants based on the value of the Evenness Index (E) value is 0.588, which falls into the criteria of moderate and labile communities. Meanwhile, the dominance of plants based on the Simpson's Dominance Index (D) value is 0.239, which states that there is one type of plant that dominates. The plant species is mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni) with 357 individuals.
