Abstract

Indonesia is known as a megabiodiversity country which has a very rich
variety of flora and fauna, one of which is insects. Dragonflies are a
bioindicator because they always look for clean water environments.
Research on dragonfly diversity at Padjadjaran University is rarely carried
out. This research aims to identify the diversity of dragonfly species
(Odonata) in the Padjadjaran University area, East Sub-Watershed. This
research is exploratory using a survey method. Sampling was carried out
using the transect route method which was divided into five subtransects.
The results showed that 131 individuals from 16 species of dragonflies were
found. The diversity of dragonflies at the research location is classified as
moderate with an average species diversity index (H') of 2.6; the average
species evenness index (E) value is 1.0167086; the average species richness
index (R) value is 1.4797398; the species dominance index (D) value was an
average of 0.454. The life of dragonflies in this area is influenced by
environmental factors, including light intensity, wind speed, air humidity
and temperature, which are favorable. This research shows that dragonfly
diversity can be an indicator of environmental quality.
