Abstract

Income inequality refers to the unequal distribution of income among individuals or households within a region. Extreme income inequality can lead to economic inefficiency, undermine social stability, and be perceived by society as an injustice. This study aims to examine the effects of the Poverty Rate, Local Own-Source Revenue, Average Years of Schooling, and Unemployment Rate on Income Inequality in North Central Timor Regency. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The data analysis techniques employed are inferential analysis and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS Statistics Version 16. The results of the analysis indicate that, partially, the Poverty Rate, Average Years of Schooling, and Unemployment Rate have a significant effect on Income Inequality. Meanwhile, the Local Own-Source Revenue variable does not have a significant effect on Income Inequality. Simultaneously, there is a significant effect of the Poverty Rate, Local Own-Source Revenue, Average Years of Schooling, and Unemployment Rate on Income Inequality in North Central Timor Regency.
