Publication Ethics

The code of ethics in MATH-EDU: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan Matematika follows the guidelines set out in the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 regarding the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. The core of this code of ethics is to uphold three ethical values in publication: (a) Neutrality, which means being free from conflicts of interest in managing publications; (b) Fairness, which involves granting authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and (c) Integrity, which means being free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publication.

This code of ethics applies to all users of MATH-EDU: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan Matematika, including the editorial team, reviewers, and authors.

Penalty
If the author is proven to have committed duplication, fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or published one manuscript in two or more different journals, the author will be given penalty in the form of retraction of the article, cancellation of publication, and the author will be blacklisted from MATH-EDU: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan Matematika.

The following are the duties of the author, reviewer, and editorial board.

Author Duties:

  1. Authors must certifiy that the manuscript is an original research.
  2. Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published elsewhere.
  3. The manuscript must be accompanied by clear sources and listed in the references.
  4. All Authors mentioned in the paper must have significantly contributed to the research.

Reviewer Duties:

  1. Reviewer has responsible for recommending the suitability of publication of the submitted manuscript.
  2. Reviewer has right to provide criticism and suggestions aimed at improving the quality of the submitted manuscript.
  3. Reviewer may refuse to review any submission due to a conflict of interest or insufficient knowledge.
  4. Reviewer must review manuscript that assign of objectively, fairly and professionally.
  5. Reviewer must ensure the authenticity of submissions and guard against plagiarism and excessive publication.
  6. Reviewer adhere to the time allocated for the review process.
  7. Reviewer may request for extensions to review submissions are at the discretion of the editor-in-chief.

Editorial board Duties:

  1. Editors have actively contribute for development of journal.
  2. Editors has responsible for doing initial screening of manuscript.
  3. Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article.
  4. Editors are responsible for the contents and overall quality of the publication.
  5. Editors should always consider the needs of the authors and the readers when attempting to improve the publication.
  6. Editors should guarantee the quality of the papers and the integrity of the academic record.
  7. Editors should publish errata pages or make corrections when needed.
  8. Editors should preserve the anonymity of reviewers. 
  9. Editors should base their decisions solely on the papers’ importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to publication’s scope.
  10. Editors should only accept a paper when reasonably certain.
